In 1960 the young people of the town eagerly embraced the newly formed Guiding and Scouting Associations as a welcome addition to their recreational opportunities.
The impetus behind the introduction of these associations came from Mr C.M. Page, the new ANZ Bank manager, and his wife June who had been involved in the movement before coming to the district. The Pages were assisted in their drive by-parents and citizens of the town who were keen to provided constructive recreational facilities for children. Prominent among these citizens were Mrs W. Jenkins, Mrs M. McClymont, Mrs B. Crowley, Mrs D. Murray and Mrs Pam Wall who gave many hours of their time to become leaders.
Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Guides were soon in full swing and it was not long before the association was able to erect its own hall at the showground where boys and girls met for many years to learn bushcraft, living skills, citizenship and to have "just plain fun".

Trundle Starlight Girl Guides - May 2010
We did so many things in just two days: flying fox and abseiling, craft, putting on a concert, camp cooking, catching bugs, beekeeping, board games, playing in jelly and goop using binoculars, commando course, singing, team building, planting trees, making a human-sized gecko and outdoor games! Thank you to Rhonda and Dolly who gave up their entire weekend.
Erin Murray-Whiley was the star of the weekend carrying the Australian flag for our Colours Ceremony. Also, well done to Lydia and Eliza Kelly for their great teamwork and courage on the abseiling!
We have our Promise Night and Camp Presentation next Tuesday (18th May) at 6pm-7.30pm. All Guides and families are asked to attend as it is one of the most special nights for our girls in their guiding career. Community members also welcome. Light supper provided. All Guide to bring a plate please and wear full uniform. - Kellylee Dunn
