On Tuesday 8 July 2008 at the Anglican Hall in Trundle, ten enthusiastic men came together to form the Trundle Men's Shed.

Guest’s speakers for the day were Chairman of the Parkes Men's Shed, Bernie Crowe and a couple of ex-locals, Peter Ross and Tom Kearney.

There were some apologies and also a very cold day, which may have put some people off a bit.

Bernie spoke very well about the difference it makes in Parkes by getting men together for a chance to chat and bond through mateship.

He also said it is a chance for the wives to have a bit of peace for three hours as well. It is very informal with very few rules or obligations just turn up and enjoy each others company for three hours.

If you wish to do something with your hands - e.g. carpentry or lead lighting - or just have a cup of tea or coffee and a chat, that is up to you.

The Trundle Men's Shed is a community based group whose focus is to provide a place where men are encouraged and supported to meet, share each others skills, interests and company, and contribute to their own well-being and to our community.

An executive committee was formed with President - Barry Harmer, Secretary -Mick O'Bryan, and Treasurer - John Kearney

The Trundle Men's Shed is starting up on Tuesdays at 9am till 12 noon. This is every week and if there is enough interest in future, it might open two days a week. Some of the things we can do are woodwork, metal work, leatherwork, computers, lead lighting, craft, darts, and day trips or just have a cuppa and a chat.

All that is required to become a member is to come along to the shed and pay the annual membership of $10. So don't forget every Tuesday from 9 till 12 at the Anglican Hall come along and enjoy the bonds of mateship.

If you have any enquiries please do not hesitate to call Mick O'Bryan on 6892 1144 at any time.
